Originally established in 1969 as Ord-BT, Pendal is an Australian investment manager that aims to deliver superior investment returns for clients through active management. They actively manage investments in Australian equities and listed property, Australian and international fixed interest, global equities, multi-asset portfolios and alternative investments.

In 2023, Pendal became part of Perpetual Limited (ASX:PPT). Through the Perpetual and Pendal brands, Barrow Hanley, J O Hambro, Regnan, Trillium and TSW, they have a presence in the US, UK and Europe.
 Fund/Strategy Overview:
Pendal Australian Equity Fund is benchmarked to the S&P/ASX 300 (TR) Index and aims to provide a return, before fees, costs and taxes, that exceeds the benchmark over the medium to long term. The Fund is an actively managed Australian equity strategy that generally allocates 80% to 100% to Australian shares and 0% to 20% to cash. It is designed to provide long-term capital growth, tax-effective income and diversification across a broad range of Australian companies and industries. Pendal applies a discretionary, bottom-up investment process based on active stock selection and fundamental company research. The process assesses each company's long-term worth and its capacity to outperform the market, without restricting the portfolio to either a growth or value style. Research focuses on valuation, franchise quality, management quality and financial and non-financial risks. The Fund may hold cash and may use derivatives to manage risk, hedge adverse market or asset movements, or obtain exposure to assets and markets. ESG and ethical considerations are included where Pendal considers them financially material.
