Originally established in 1969 as Ord-BT, Pendal is an Australian investment manager that aims to deliver superior investment returns for clients through active management. They actively manage investments in Australian equities and listed property, Australian and international fixed interest, global equities, multi-asset portfolios and alternative investments.

In 2023, Pendal became part of Perpetual Limited (ASX:PPT). Through the Perpetual and Pendal brands, Barrow Hanley, J O Hambro, Regnan, Trillium and TSW, they have a presence in the US, UK and Europe.
 Fund/Strategy Overview:
Pendal Active Balanced Fund is benchmarked against a composite benchmark constructed from published market indices and the Fund's neutral asset allocation. The Fund aims to outperform this benchmark before fees, costs and taxes over the medium to long term. It is an actively managed multi-asset portfolio investing across Australian shares, international shares, Australian and international listed property securities, Australian and international fixed interest, cash and alternative investments. Permitted allocation ranges are 20% to 40% for Australian shares, 20% to 40% for international shares, up to 10% for each listed property allocation, up to 25% for each fixed-interest allocation, up to 20% in cash and up to 20% in alternatives. The portfolio has a higher strategic weighting to growth assets than defensive assets. Pendal determines the Fund's asset allocation and may move exposures away from their neutral positions within the permitted ranges based on its investment views. Currency exposure is actively managed: international fixed interest and listed property are generally fully hedged to Australian dollars, while international shares and alternatives are generally partially hedged. Derivatives may be used for hedging, risk management and efficient market exposure.
